wanderlosters x bridge to nowhere

I used to complain all the time about how many lecture courses we had to take and how much studying I had to bring home with me each day. Now that we actually are getting more involved with dental related work, I feel that my days are just consumed being in the pre-clinical lab. It's kind of a bittersweet feeling, I love working with my hands and finally being able to practice dentistry rather than studying for all these didactic courses, BUT it becomes so tedious and frustrating when things don't turn out the way you want it to and the project you've been working on for the past 3 hours is now rendered... useless. I have learned to pick myself back up, brush it off and start over.

I feel that I've been going through so many challenges lately but amidst these challenges, I've been learning so much about myself and it seriously surprises me how much I am capable of. It was this past weekend, -where the Wanderlosters and I took up another adventure and hiked the Bridge to Nowhere, that I realized life is going to be full of challenges and the more you dwell on these petty things, the more confused and unhappy you're going to be. Face these obstacles, accept them, learn from them and grow from them -they're all learning experiences that we need in order to mold into the person we are and will be.

Brace yourself

What was it about this hike that really hit home for me? It was the fact that we all had to cross multiple rivers to stay on the trail. Regardless of how wet we were going to get and how squishy our shoes were going to be, we all faced it, confidently. No one complained, no one questioned it, and that was just so relevating to me.

So enough about my life stories, and more about this beautiful hike! This 10 mile roundtrip hike took about 7 hours to complete, which may sound very long, but it actually went by so fast (because of good company of course!). There's so many different terrains that you pass through that it's honestly unbelievable they're all located in one place. Literally there would be a calm, still river on one side of the trail and a completely dry, desert like terrain on the other side.

Calm rivers

Another amazing thing about this trail was that it actually paves its way around the mountains by scaling through the valleys. This is generally pretty different from most of the hikes I've been to, where I usually make my way up the mountains. This time, I was walking around and below these gigantic rock formations, where every gaze up just made me feel so small.

We also came across these very zen, man-made rock formations. It's crazy to think that all these random hikers contributed to something like this and how cool of a discovery this was!

For the good "feng shui"

Eventually, we found our way to the ever so popular, Bridge to Nowhere. It was such a stunning sight to see as it was filled with people eager to get their turn to bungee off. Their excitement and enthusiasm was exhilarating and contagious. I stood there for minutes on end and watched each jumper dive off the bridge with butterflies in my stomach and goosebumps running down my arm.

All in all, this hike was beyond fun. The challenges, the surprises, and the excitement all made this trip one for the books. As always, adventure on and...

Be one with nature,
Theresa
