Daylight savings... why!? I woke up this morning feeling all kinds of tired. Losing that one hour of precious time really threw me off track, especially with all the things I needed to accomplish for the day. But that's the thing about dental school; with all the rewards it entails, it also requires hard work and time.
Time... it becomes more and more of an obscure thing that we can't seem to grasp enough of and quite frankly, its really something we dental students don't have. Between our long class days, we all have meetings to run to, quizzes and practicals to prepare for and six different didactic classes to stay on top of. Time technically doesn't exist for us, but thats the thing... I realized that you have to set aside time or you'd never have it. So now, I make time to still do the things I love and enjoy, which includes writing this blog or working out every day. Doing these little things that I find comfort in, keeps me sane and makes every stressful day, a little more bearable.
But anyways, this quick breakfast recipe was a personal staple for me during my undergrad years. I literally put cinnamon on everything back then so I thought I'd bring it back!
Here's what you'll need:
Overnight oats
1/2 cup oats
1/2 tbsp chia seeds
1/2 cup almond milk
1 tsp cinnamon
Mix well in a jar and refrigerate it overnight!
Toppings
1/2 asian pear (sliced)
1/2 fuji apple (sliced)
8-10 raspberries
Handful of granola
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Dollop of Trader Joe's Fig Butter
--- If you haven't tried this, I would highly recommend it, it's SO good
it's also more of a jam, than a butter, in case you were wondering! Enjoy :)
Happy Sunday,
Theresa
